We invite your donations for the The Ilford inGreen Project. The project was launched by the Ilford Business Improvement District in 2021. Ilford BID is a not-for-profit organisation that represents just under 400 businesses in Ilford town centre to shape a thriving business and community town centre.
The Ilford inGreen project is a bold initiative set to redefine Ilford's landscape. It's a collaboration of local businesses and community members, driven by a shared commitment to care for and improve the environment in which we live, work, and play. It's not just about business success—it's about nurturing the environment that sustains us all.
This project delivers actionable change which engages business and community volunteers in a variety of actions and goals. This includes volunteers armed with eco-friendly gear, determined to clean up our streets. Green spaces in the town centre are maintained, improved and transformed into vibrant oases through planting exercises and interventions.
We also take practical steps to engage our business stakeholders to register for our town centre business recycling scheme to better manage the waste generated in our community, showcasing our dedication to sustainable living. Our outreach efforts also expand to cover activities that can support the community in a dignified manner, such as pre-loved school uniform drives and providing coaching on how to make eco-conscious choices, empowering everyone to play their part.
The project also reviews and researches interventions that will reduce CO2 emissions in the town centre and reduce energy costs for businesses in Ilford town centre through cutting-edge tech, reducing waste, tapping into renewable energy, and reducing our ecological footprint.
The above actions are combined with a celebration of community members and businesses that showcase their commitment to climate change initiatives and the environment, through a sustainable transition award programme delivered under the Ilford Business Awards.
