The library is also home to exciting new spaces; Lab Central, Hub Central and Redbridge Heritage Centre which opened in 2017. The spaces enable digital learning, help businesses to develop and connect residents to the Borough’s rich heritage. Located on the ground floor, visitors of the library can enjoy food and beverages at the Hardback Cafe.
The venue features ramp access and lifts to access other floor areas.
Exchange Ilford
The Exchange Ilford is the main retail shopping mall of Ilford. It trades from three levels of retail, though its architectural design layout has resulted in the lower floor of retail being separated into two parts, meaning customers wishing to access both parts of the lower level have to travel between the sections via the middle level. There is also an upper level of retail and food court facilities accessed from the middle level. Transit between levels is via a series of lifts, stairs and escalators within the mall; in addition, some stores trade from two or more levels of the mall.
Quiet hour at Exchange Ilford:
Exchange Ilford has introduced a weekly Quiet Hour that will take place every tuesday from 9am - 10am to create a more welcoming environment for guests with sensory sensitivities, autism spectrum conditions and mental health conditions like anxiety.
During the Quiet Hour, there will be no music playing, no tannoy announcements (except in the event of an emergency) and the lights will be dimmed wherever possible to create a calmer atmosphere. Guests are welcome to use the Family Room on Level 1 as a Quiet Room to take a break. Find out more here https://www.exchangeilford.com/whats-happening/quiet-hour/
