The service will feature a number of speakers including the Mayor of Redbridge, Redbridge Council Leader, faith leaders and more.This service is an opportunity for the Redbridge community to the mark the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp, Auschwitz Birkenau in 1945 and the 29th anniversary of the Genocide in Bosnia as well as the recent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Kosovo and Darfur.Holocaust survivor Susan Pollack MBE visited us at Valentines Mansion and shared her experiences during the Holocaust and the importance of commemorating the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.Join the nation from 4pm light a candle and put safely in your window. Redbridge Libraries have curated booklists for young people and for adults to widen knowledge and understanding of the holocaust and genocides.
